Tinubu Embarrassed by EFCC's Freeze on Osun Account

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke disclosed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu expressed embarrassment regarding the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) freezing the state government’s account. During the Arise Town Hall for Osun governorship candidates on Tuesday, Adeleke responded to questions about his relationship with Tinubu and allegations of federal interference in the upcoming election.

He stated that Tinubu assured him of a free and fair election and clarified that he was not responsible for the account freeze, contrary to claims by some political actors. Adeleke alleged that his predecessor, Gboyega Oyetola, had been leveraging his familial ties to Tinubu to influence federal agencies, including the EFCC.

He emphasized that Tinubu's intervention demonstrated his commitment to democracy and the electoral process. Adeleke accused Oyetola of attempting to destabilize Osun for electoral gain and vowed to protect the interests of the state's residents against such political maneuvers.
