Vigilante Allegedly Kills Girlfriend in Abia State Incident

In Abia State, a local vigilante identified as Chinedu Anamelechi is alleged to have shot and killed his girlfriend, Ezinn Ariwodo, and also stabbed her sister while shooting another young man in the Amakama community of Umuahia South Local Government Area. The Abia State Police Command, through its public relations officer ASP Maureen Chinaka, confirmed the incident in a statement on Thursday.

Upon receiving reports of the incident, police operatives swiftly arrived at the scene, where they found the lifeless body of Ariwodo in a pool of blood due to gunshot injuries. The injured victims were rushed to the hospital for treatment, while the deceased's body was deposited in the morgue for preservation and autopsy.

The police have urged community members to refrain from taking the law into their own hands and are actively working to apprehend the suspect.
