WACOT Empowers 3,500 Farmers with €1.26M Grant

WACOT, in partnership with TGI Group, has obtained a €1.26 million grant from DEG Impulse to support 3,500 smallholder sesame farmers in Jigawa and Kebbi states. The project aims to enhance the farmers' adoption of organic and climate-resilient farming practices.

By matching the grant, WACOT plans to double the average national yield achieved in 2020, ensuring premium prices for certified organic harvests. This initiative not only boosts farmers' incomes but also contributes significantly to Nigeria's non-oil export earnings and promotes sustainable agriculture.
