Ogun APC Candidate Mourns Veteran Actor Taiwo Hassan

Solomon Adeola, the All Progressives Congress gubernatorial candidate in Ogun State, mourned the death of veteran actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, who died at 3 PM on August 23, 2026, at the age of 66. In a tribute posted on Facebook, Adeola, alongside his wife Temitope Adeola, expressed sorrow over Ogogo's passing after his "courageous battle" with illness.

He stated that he and his family supported Ogogo's medical treatment and remained hopeful for his recovery. Adeola described Ogogo as a "dear brother" and a proud son of Ilaro and Ogun West, whose career significantly contributed to the Nigerian film industry.

He extended condolences to Ogogo's wife, children, and family, as well as to the people of Ilaro and Yewaland. Ogogo's daughters, Kaira and Lima Taiwo, acknowledged Adeola's support during their father's illness.

Ogogo's remains were taken to Ilaro for burial according to Islamic rites, with family, friends, and colleagues gathering to pay their respects.
