Uzodimma Acknowledges 2023 Election Miscalculation

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State stated that the political calculations made in the Southeast during the 2023 general elections were incorrect and assured that such mistakes would not occur in the 2027 elections. He made these remarks while hosting leaders from the Abia State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), including Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, at the Government House in Owerri.

Uzodimma reflected on the voting patterns in the region, particularly noting the overwhelming support for Labour Party candidate Peter Obi, which he described as a political error. He stressed the importance of unity among political actors in the Southeast to pursue shared goals and stabilize the region.

Uzodimma also highlighted the need for increased support for President Bola Tinubu to ensure the Southeast gains a stronger voice in national decisions, expressing optimism for the APC's prospects in the 2027 elections.
