Presidency Dismisses ADC's Claims Against APC
• Naijanews • Politics
The Nigerian Presidency, through special adviser Sundai Dare, has responded to accusations from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) regarding the All Progressives Congress (APC). The ADC alleged that the APC is creating crises within opposition parties to diminish competition ahead of the 2027 elections. Dare firmly rejected these claims, emphasizing that the APC is not shrinking the democratic space and that the ADC's ability to approach the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) independently is evidence of political freedom in the country. He further stated that the APC, under President Bola Tinubu, is not intimidated by opposition parties and is focused on governance rather than political maneuvering. Dare's comments were made during an appearance on Channels Television, where he asserted the APC's commitment to fair competition in the electoral process.
