U.S. Firm to Report Adeyemi's Arrest to Trump Administration

Adeniyi Adeyemi was arrested by Nigerian police following a bench warrant issued by the Federal High Court in Abuja for alleged border forgery and conspiracy to impersonate. The Washington-based lobbying firm Von Batten Montagu York, associated with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, stated it would report Adeyemi's arrest to members of the Trump administration.

The firm indicated that Adeyemi is expected to provide sworn statements regarding the allegations against senior Nigerian government officials. The arrest occurred shortly after Adeyemi's situation became public knowledge, and the firm expressed concerns about the circumstances surrounding his arrest, suggesting it may have been influenced by Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to the President.

Adeyemi is accused of falsifying government documents, including an appointment letter allegedly signed by Gbajabiamila. He is scheduled to be arraigned on September 30, 2026.
