Olawepo-Hashim Critiques Tinubu Amid PDP Legal Battles

In a recent interview on a television program, Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, a former presidential aspirant, criticized Bola Tinubu for allegedly drinking cognac abroad during a time when the People's Democratic Party (PDP) was battling military rule. Olawepo-Hashim recalled events surrounding the death of General Sani Abacha and the imprisonment of PDP members.

He also addressed a recent judgment from an appeal court that dismissed the faction of the PDP led by Taminu Turaki. The court upheld a previous ruling from the Federal High Court in Abuja on October 31, 2025, which restrained the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from recognizing the outcomes of the 2025 national convention of the PDP in Ibadan.

Olawepo-Hashim stated that pursuing the matter in the apex court would not benefit the party.
