APC Yet to Decide on Osun Governorship Election Results

Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), described the August 15, 2026, governorship election in Osun State as a learning experience for the party. Speaking with journalists in Ibadan after a reconciliation meeting with party leaders and members of the Oyo State APC Reconciliation Committee, he noted that the APC has not yet taken an official position on the election outcome.

Yilwatda stated that the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) would review the election results with the party’s candidate and other stakeholders before making a decision. He emphasized the necessity of unity among party members in Oyo State to enhance the party's chances in the 2027 general elections.

Senator Olufemi Lanlehin, co-chairman of the Oyo State APC Reconciliation Committee, indicated that the committee is addressing grievances from recent primaries and urged members to support the reconciliation process to strengthen the party.
