Daura Defects to APM, Aims to Transform Nigeria

Yusuf Magaji Bichi Daura, the former Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), has announced his departure from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to join the African People's Movement (APM). He clarified that rumors suggesting he left due to not receiving the ADC governorship ticket are unfounded, stating he had exited the ADC several months prior.

Daura explained that his silence was a strategic decision aimed at planning his political future and avoiding past mistakes. His motivation for entering politics stems from a commitment to address Nigeria's issues, including insecurity, poor leadership, and economic challenges.

He emphasized that his political ambitions are not personal but rooted in a desire to change negative perceptions of politics. Daura described the APM as a winning party and urged Nigerians to support it in the upcoming 2027 general elections, asserting that it is currently crisis-free.

While he did not disclose the specific political position he seeks, he expressed his willingness to contribute to Nigeria's development regardless of holding office.
