Jumoke Akinjide Resigns from PDP, Cites Difficult Decision

Jumoke Akinjide, who served as the former Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory, officially announced her resignation from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in a letter dated March 30, 2026. In her resignation letter addressed to the PDP chairman of Ward 1, Ona Ara Local Government Area in Oyo State, Akinjide described her decision as difficult and one that required a long period of reflection.

She emphasized that her resignation was not taken lightly, given her long-standing membership in the party since 2001. Akinjide expressed gratitude for the opportunities the PDP provided her, including the political offices she engaged in, and wished the party success in the future.
