Ali Pate Declines Bauchi Governorship Bid for 2027

Ali Pate, the current Minister of Health and Coordinator Minister of Health and Social Welfare, has declared that he will not be contesting for the governorship of Bauchi State in the 2027 elections. In a video message shared on Facebook, Pate acknowledged the widespread calls from residents urging him to join the governorship race.

He expressed gratitude for the support and trust shown by the people of Bauchi, noting their confidence in his leadership. Pate explained that after extensive consultations with elders, youth, and stakeholders, he prioritized national service and sought divine guidance in his decision-making process.

He stressed the importance of contributing to Nigeria's development at a national level rather than focusing solely on state office. Pate reassured Bauchi residents of his commitment to improving their welfare and advancing healthcare, creating job opportunities, and supporting vulnerable groups.

He also called on the youth to resist political manipulation and avoid violence, reaffirming his dedication to public service.
