Wike: Defeating Tinubu in FCT Will Be Challenging

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, expressed that it would be nearly impossible for the opposition to defeat President Bola Tinubu in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) during the 2027 elections. Wike highlighted the visible transformation of the FCT, particularly in the development of motor roads and infrastructure, which he believes has fundamentally changed the political landscape of the region.

He emphasized that the Tinubu administration's strategy focuses on breaking the traditional concentration of development in urban centers by extending high-quality roads to rural communities and satellite towns. This approach aims to curb rural-urban drift and stimulate the local economy.

Wike noted that several infrastructural projects are being fast-tracked for inauguration, marking the third year of Tinubu's presidency. He underscored the administration's commitment to restoring hope in Nigeria through these developments.
