Wike Vows to Defeat Non-Tinubu Candidates in FCT Polls

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, declared his commitment to ensuring that candidates who do not support President Bola Tinubu will not succeed in the upcoming Federal Capital Territory area council elections, set for February 21. Wike made this statement during the 60th birthday celebration of Sandi Onor in Abuja.

He emphasized that he would not apologize for his stance and reiterated that he would support candidates aligned with Tinubu's re-election efforts, regardless of their political affiliations. Wike described Onor as a credible ally, trustworthy friend, and a good brother, stating that he would continue to work with him even after his passing.

The event also featured remarks from notable figures, including former governors Samuel Ortom and Okezie Ikpeazu, who praised Onor's leadership qualities. Kanu Agabi, a former Attorney General and Minister of Justice, highlighted Onor's courage and intelligence, while Professor Dave Imbua presented a festschrift book in honor of Onor, recognizing his contributions as a historian.
