Adepoju Opposes Osimhen as Super Eagles Captain

Mutiu Adepoju, a former Nigerian international footballer, has expressed his opposition to the notion of Victor Osimhen, currently with Galatasaray, becoming the captain of the Super Eagles. Following the retirements of William Troost-Ekong and Ahmed Musa, who previously held the captain's armband, Osimhen's name has emerged among several candidates for the leadership role.

However, Adepoju believes that leadership in football requires certain qualities that Osimhen may not possess. He stated that a captain must have talent, leadership abilities, emotional control, and the capacity to represent the team both on and off the pitch.

Adepoju's comments come in the context of the Super Eagles' recent leadership changes, with Wilfred Ndidi being appointed as the new captain and Moses Simon as the vice-captain.
