Zamfara State Holds Town Hall for 2027 Budget Preparation

The Zamfara State Government held a town hall meeting on Wednesday in Gusau to prepare the 2027 Annual Budget Estimate, emphasizing the significance of inclusive, transparent governance. Professor Yahaya Zakari, the Commissioner for Budget and Planning, announced that these meetings would take place across the three senatorial districts: Central, Northern, and Western.

He conveyed that this initiative reflects Governor Dauda Lawal's commitment to citizen-driven governance. The budget serves as a blueprint for delivering essential services and projects to the populace.

Participants were encouraged to discuss priority areas such as peace and security, education, health, agriculture, infrastructure, water, youth and women's empowerment, and social services. Sani Abubakar Bukkuyum, the Permanent Secretary for Budget and Planning, underscored the budget's importance in aligning government spending with community needs and resource availability.

The town hall meetings aim to foster dialogue between the government and citizens, allowing for the presentation of ideas and priority projects beneficial to the communities.
