Widow Appeals to Governor's Wife for Property Protection

Mr. Nkechinyer Ndukw, a 62-year-old widow and retired headmistress, has made an urgent appeal to Mrs.

Priscilla Otti, the wife of Abia State Governor, for support against individuals allegedly tormenting her regarding her property at 62 Mission Hill, Umuahia. In a letter addressed to Mrs.

Otti, Ndukw claims that she is facing intimidation from people who falsely assert they purchased her property. Despite her refusal to sign any documents suggesting a sale, she alleges that armed men, believed to be hired thugs, invaded her property on January 29, 2026, damaging her residence and removing essential materials.

The Nigerian Bar Association's Umuahia branch has also been involved, advocating for her rights and threatening further action if the harassment continues. Ndukw, who lives with her grandchildren, states that the police have not provided adequate protection, leading to a state of insecurity in her home.
