Wike Assures Diplomatic Community of Abuja's Safety

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, assured the diplomatic community in Abuja of their safety, emphasizing the commitment of the Bola Tinubu administration to enhance security and create an enabling environment for diplomatic activities. This assurance was made during a reception held at the European Union complex in Abuja to celebrate St.

Patrick's Day and the official opening of the new Irish embassy, attended by Ambassador Peter Ryan. Wike stated that Abuja aims to be one of the best capital cities in the world and highlighted ongoing improvements in security under Tinubu's administration.

He also expressed the willingness of the Federal Capital Territory administration to strengthen partnerships with the diplomatic community. Wike clarified that he was not speaking on behalf of the Federal Government or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs but as the FCT Minister.

He hinted at a possible visit to Ireland following an invitation from Ambassador Ryan, noting the importance of timely visits.
