Wike Defends Visit to APC Chairman Yilwatda in Abuja

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), defended his visit to the residence of the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman, Prof. Nentaw Yilwatda, in Abuja.

Wike stated that he is not obligated to disclose the details of his private social interactions and that individuals are free to associate regardless of political affiliations. He likened his visit to having a drink with a friend and questioned why such actions should be publicly announced.

Wike noted that he has a long-standing relationship with Yilwatda, having served as colleagues in the past. He emphasized that his primary concern remains fulfilling his duties satisfactorily as a minister, despite public perceptions regarding his visit.

Wike also mentioned that he has made several unsuccessful attempts to see the APC chairman in his office and that he often receives visitors at his residence.
