Wike Denies Lobbying for APC Campaign DG Position

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, officially refuted media claims that he is lobbying to become the Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC). In a statement released on Monday in Abuja by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, Wike described the allegations as false and fabricated.

He stated that he has never discussed the leadership or membership of the PCC with anyone. Despite distancing himself from the campaign DG position, Wike expressed his unwavering support for President Bola Tinubu’s reelection bid, asserting that he does not need a formal title within the APC's campaign structure to contribute effectively.

Wike committed to ensuring that Tinubu wins by significant margins in Rivers State and the Federal Capital Territory, emphasizing his focus on delivering the President’s “Renewed Hope Agenda” through infrastructure development and governance in the FCT.
