Willie Nwokoye Named AMTY Community Service Icon of the Year

Willie Nwokoye has been recognized as the AMTY Community Service Icon of the Year, awarded for his outstanding contributions to community development and public service in Anambra State. Nwokoye, an indigene of Amawbia, served as the Principal Secretary to the Anambra State Government from March 18, 2014, to 2022, completing an uninterrupted eight-year tenure under former Governor Willie Obiano.

His career in the financial sector includes a decade at a merchant investment bank, culminating in a senior advisory role at FBN Capital, part of First Bank Group. Nwokoye has also made significant contributions to preserving Igbo culture and heritage, promoting community development, and facilitating infrastructure projects.

His initiatives include constructing roads, providing electricity, and creating public recreational spaces. He has been recognized for his efforts to honor individuals and institutions contributing to the reintegration of the Igbo people post-Nigerian Civil War.

Nwokoye holds an MBA from the University of Ibadan and has participated in various executive programs, further underscoring his commitment to community service.
