Wiz Khalifa Receives Nine-Month Jail Term in Romania for On-Stage Cannabis Smoking

American rapper Wiz Khalifa has been sentenced to nine months in prison by a Romanian court for smoking cannabis during a live performance at a music festival in Costinesti last year. The Romanian Appeal Court canceled his previous fine and ruled for his custodial sentence, which was handed down in absentia.

The Romanian prosecutor's office charged Khalifa with drug possession for smoking 18 grams of cannabis on stage, describing his actions as a public display of illegal activity. Legal experts suggest that extradition to the US is unlikely due to various factors, including Khalifa's wealth and connections.

Despite plans for a formal extradition request, it is expected to be denied. Khalifa, known for hits like "Black and Yellow," faces serving his prison term in Romania.
