Urgent Repairs Initiated for Edo-Delta Highways

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), the Federal Ministry of Works, and the Edo State Government have launched an urgent intervention to address the poor condition of highways between Edo and Delta States. A statement from Seledi Thomspon-Wakama, Director of Corporate Affairs at NDDC, detailed that Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo, Minister of Works Senator David Umahi, and NDDC Managing Director Dr. Samuel Ogbuku conducted a joint inspection of the Benin-Sapele-Warri and Benin-Agbor roads.

Umahi emphasized the Federal Government's commitment to repairing the roads, which have caused significant hardship for commuters and businesses, following a directive from President Bola Tinubu. The NDDC has identified a critical 15.4-kilometer stretch between Benin and Sapele that has become unmotorable.

Ogbuku stated that the NDDC and the Ministry of Works will collaborate on the intervention to ensure sustainable repairs. Governor Okpebholo praised the swift response from President Tinubu, highlighting the national importance of the highway's condition.
