WIC Warns Politicians Against Threats to Igbos

The World Igbo Congress (WIC), through its Vice-Chairman Basil Onwukwe, issued a warning to politicians and their supporters against threatening or intimidating Igbo individuals due to their political affiliations, particularly in light of Peter Obi's presidential ambitions. Onwukwe stated that the WIC would no longer remain silent in the face of threats that jeopardize the lives and property of Igbo people.

He noted that the organization is non-partisan but will actively respond to any political disagreements that pose risks to the Igbo community. Onwukwe highlighted that the WIC has been monitoring political developments in Nigeria and is prepared to take necessary actions.

He urged for a political environment free of bitterness and violence. Additionally, he mentioned the upcoming WIC convention in Austin, Texas, and initiatives such as the establishment of an Igbo Credit Union in the U.S. and plans for a Biafra Cenotaph and Monumental Park.
