Yari Affirms APC's Dominance Beyond 2031 Amid Controversy

Abdulaziz Yari, the newly appointed Director General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, stated that the APC will maintain control of the presidency beyond 2031. He made this declaration at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja upon returning from an overseas trip, where he was welcomed by party supporters.

This statement came shortly after the campaign council was unveiled, with Bola Ahmed Tinubu as its head, alongside Vice President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda. The council's composition has sparked controversy, particularly regarding the inclusion of public officials and individuals facing unresolved allegations, such as Zacch Adedeji, Betta Edu, and Ngozi Olejeme.

Yari emphasized the APC's commitment to fulfilling its campaign promises and expressed confidence in Tinubu's re-election bid, stating, “by God’s grace, he shall be the president come 2027.” He also prayed for divine guidance for Tinubu and assured Nigerians of the party's accountability.
