Yari Named to Lead Tinubu/Shettima 2027 Campaign Council

Senator Abdul'Aziz Abubakar Yari has been selected by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to direct the 2027 presidential election campaign council. Within the All Progressives Congress (APC), this decision has received backing from party figures who point to Yari's documented political performance and structural management skills.

A statement of support came from Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi, who previously served as National Secretary of the All Progressives Grand Alliance and now holds APC membership. According to Shinkafi, Yari possesses substantial experience rooted in community-level politics, demonstrated skill in constructing and overseeing political machinery, and far-reaching connections throughout Nigeria's regions.

Shinkafi himself is contesting for a seat representing Zamfara North in the 2027 senatorial race. On Saturday, Shinkafi offered commentary suggesting that how the campaign leadership was put together reflects the party's intent to balance organizational needs with inclusive principles.

He assessed Yari as equipped with the necessary expertise to run the campaign throughout Nigeria's territory. Shinkafi conveyed belief that Yari's selection would give the APC advantages in the upcoming electoral cycle.
