Yobe State Approves N73.3 Billion for Infrastructure Projects

The Yobe State Executive Council approved a total expenditure of N73,323,775,914.05 for various projects aimed at improving living conditions for residents across the state during a council meeting on Thursday, presided over by Governor Mai Mala Buni. Abdullahi Bego, the state Commissioner for Home Affairs, Culture, and Tourism, provided a comprehensive breakdown of the approved expenditures.

Notably, N28,531,209,000 will be allocated for procuring agricultural tools as part of the Governor's Mega Agricultural Empowerment Program for 2026. Other significant allocations include N4,939,268,813 for constructing the Buni Yadi modern motor park and grain market, and N5,687,865,141 for the perimeter fencing of the Damaturu modern motor park.

The council also ratified N23,974,658,517.5 for two major road projects, including the rehabilitation of the 45km Kalallawa-Kaliyari road. Additional approvals include the purchase of 208 housing units and the construction of an office complex for the Ministry of Housing.
