Yobe State Partners with MCC Ltd for Cement Plant

Yobe State has entered into a partnership with MCC Ltd to develop a cement plant with a production capacity of 3 million tonnes. Governor Mai Mala Buni disclosed this information on Saturday in Damaturu during a courtesy visit from Liu Long, the Group Managing Director of MCC Ltd, and his management team.

The project is expected to serve as a major catalyst for economic transformation in Yobe State. The state government is committed to providing an enabling environment for the success of the industrial complex, aligning with the administration's drive to harness the state's abundant solid mineral resources for industrial development.

The Yobe Mine Development Company Limited (YMDCL) will drive the project, which is anticipated to strengthen local value addition, support infrastructure development, and attract further investment to the state. Governor Buni emphasized that the cement plant positions Yobe as an emerging hub for cement production in Nigeria, creating thousands of direct and indirect jobs.

Liu Long commended the proactive leadership of the state government, expressing optimism about the partnership achieving mutual benefits and sustainable development.
