APC Chieftain Ayekooto Critiques Obi's Leadership Claims

Ayekooto Akindele, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has publicly criticized Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), regarding comments made during an interview on Channels TV. Obi, the former governor of Anambra State, stated that he could not conduct local government elections during his tenure due to uncontrollable litigation issues.

In response, Ayekooto expressed skepticism about Obi's ability to manage national challenges if elected president, pointing out that Obi struggled to address issues within his own state. Ayekooto remarked, “You couldn’t control a small challenge in only one state, no wonder you always run from challenges from one political party to another, giving excuses.” He emphasized the irony of Obi aspiring to govern 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) despite his past difficulties in managing local governance in Anambra State.
