ADC Challenges Tinubu's Support Claims from Umahi

The Enugu State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has issued a warning to President Bola Tinubu regarding statements made by Governor Dave Umahi, who claimed that the South East geopolitical zone would provide 90% support for Tinubu's re-election bid in the presidential elections scheduled for February 20, 2027. The ADC, represented by its national coordinator, Adolphu Ud, accused Umahi of misleading the president and failing to present the truth.

The ADC highlighted that in the 2023 presidential elections, Tinubu lost significantly in five South East states—Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo—where he garnered less than 10% of the total votes cast. Specifically, in Ebonyi State, Tinubu received only 13% of the votes.

The ADC emphasized that the South East has been grossly excluded from federal allocations and infrastructure interventions under Tinubu's administration, which they argue must change before the 2027 elections.
