Umahi Calls for Strategic Unity in South-East for 2027 Elections

Dave Umahi, the Minister of Works, has called for the South-East region of Nigeria to adopt a strategic approach to position itself for the presidency in the upcoming 2027 general elections. Speaking during the opening of the Enugu-Onitsha expressway, he expressed confidence that the South-East could deliver 80% of its votes for Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Umahi urged leaders in the region to boldly persuade the populace to support Tinubu's presidency, emphasizing the importance of infrastructure development, equity, and justice. He stressed that the region must not settle for less than 80% electoral support, as anything less would weaken their negotiating power.

Umahi's remarks highlight the critical need for unity among the South-East electorate to avoid division and confusion in the lead-up to the elections.
