APC Aspirant Claims N100m Spent, Demands Fair Primaries

Obinna Ahiazu, an aspirant for the Imo State House of Assembly seat representing Ahiazu Mbaise, has publicly criticized the APC leadership for allegedly sidelining candidates after he and five others purchased nomination forms costing over N10 million each. Ahiazu claims to have spent over N100 million in support of the party and insists that the APC cannot discard him without a transparent electoral process.

He expressed his frustration in a widely circulated video, stating that the party's actions are unacceptable and ridiculed the manner in which candidates are being selected. Ahiazu also raised concerns over the lack of consultation and transparency in the primary election process, alleging that the party is preparing to announce candidates without proper voting.

He called on the Imo State Governor and the APC leadership to allow aspirants to test their popularity through a fair contest, amidst growing complaints from various aspirants about irregularities in the party's primary elections ahead of the 2027 general elections.
