Youth Leader Killed in Benue Community Attack

In the early hours of Tuesday, gunmen attacked the Ugboju District in Otukpo Local Government Area, Benue State, resulting in the death of youth leader Sundai Ogoh. The attack occurred around 5 AM, during which the assailants opened fire, leading to Ogoh's fatal injuries.

Residents, who preferred to remain anonymous, fled their homes amid the chaos. This incident followed another attack in Otukpo, where 18 people were killed just 48 hours prior.

Maxwell Ogiri, the chairman of Otukpo Local Government Area, confirmed the incident and noted that security forces swiftly repelled the attack. A combined security operation was launched, and a manhunt for the perpetrators was initiated.

Udem Edet, the Public Relations Officer, confirmed the ongoing security operations in response to the attacks.
