Ladoja Praises Tinubu's Anti-Kidnapping Efforts

On Thursday, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, commended President Bola Tinubu for his administration's approach to tackling kidnapping in Nigeria, describing it as a "turning point" in the fight against the crime. This statement was made during a courtesy visit to Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, where Ladoja sought ongoing Federal Government support to enhance security in Oyo State, particularly after the recent kidnapping of schoolchildren and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area.

Ladoja, representing the Council of Oyo Obas, praised Tinubu for his refusal to negotiate with kidnappers through ransom payments, asserting that this firm stance has restored public confidence in the government's ability to address insecurity. He urged the President to maintain military operations in the forest areas linking Oyo and Niger states to prevent the resurgence of criminal activities.

Tinubu had previously revealed that security agencies successfully secured the release of the abducted individuals without paying ransom, opting instead for intelligence-led operations.
