Ganduje and Yusuf Meet to Address Kano Political Tensions

Abba Yusuf, the current governor of Kano State, and his predecessor Abdullahi Ganduje reportedly held a closed-door meeting in Abuja to discuss escalating political tensions in the state. The meeting focused on recent defections within the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the ongoing emirship dispute involving the vacant deputy governorship position.

Ganduje expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of consultation from the party's presidency regarding these issues and highlighted the crisis within the party structure. He suggested appointing Murtala Garo as deputy governor to stabilize the party and prevent further defections, thereby strengthening its chances in the upcoming 2027 elections.

However, Governor Yusuf requested time for wider consultations before making any decisions. The meeting, which included political strategists and former aides, concluded around 2:40 PM on a Wednesday.
