Governor Yusuf Accuses Ex-Deputy of Impeachment Plot

On Thursday, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State revealed that his former Deputy, Aminu Abdussalam, secretly planned to impeach him and take control of the office. Yusuf made these claims during an event at the Government House in Kano, where he hosted a group praising singer Mawallafan Abba Gida Gida.

He described Abdussalam's actions as an extraordinary political crisis, questioning the motives behind Abdussalam's sudden resignation, which he claimed was not formally communicated to him. Yusuf emphasized that the real betrayal occurred within the Kwankwasiyya political movement, suggesting that Abdussalam's actions were driven by personal ambition rather than the interests of the people of Kano State.

He assured residents that the process to fill the vacant deputy governor position would be handled properly, ensuring that a capable individual committed to serving the people would be chosen.
