Zamfara Residents Flee as Bandits Threaten Safety

In Zamfara State, around 2,000 residents from the western part of Tsafe Local Government Area have abandoned their villages due to an imminent threat from bandits. The evacuation was prompted by a recent attack on the village identified by Muhammad Murtala, which compelled families to seek safety.

Hon. Garba Panchas, the chairman of Tsafe Local Government, confirmed that the villagers fled to the local government headquarters. In response to the situation, the Civilian JTF is preparing to deploy security forces to the area, with three heavy security machinery units already present.

The evacuation was influenced by rumors of a potential return of the bandits, leading to fears among the residents. The local government is taking measures to ensure the safety of the community as they prepare for further security deployments.
