Nasarawa Residents Displaced by Renewed Bandit Attacks

In Nasarawa State, a significant number of residents are fleeing their homes due to a resurgence of armed bandit attacks. Reports indicate that around 3,000 individuals have been displaced from their communities, particularly in the Gada Hudu area of Karu Local Government.

A viral video captured the distressing scene, showing families, including women and children, escaping on foot, in pickup vans, and on motorcycles, carrying whatever belongings they could salvage. The situation has been described as heartbreaking, with displaced individuals expressing uncertainty about their future and lack of shelter.

The Nigerian Police's public relations officer, Ramhan Nansel, was contacted for confirmation of the incidents but did not respond in time for the report. The ongoing violence has raised concerns among politicians regarding the safety of families in the region, as the local populace continues to suffer from the deteriorating security conditions.
