Zamfara Government Warns Teachers Against Negligence

The Zamfara state government issued a warning to 250 trained secondary school teachers regarding negligence in their duties, stating that any teacher found wanting will face disciplinary action in accordance with the law. This warning was delivered by Hon. Abdulmalik Gajam, the Commissioner of Education, Science and Technology, during the closing ceremony of the two-week Global Standard Teacher Transformation Programme (GSTTP) held in Gusau.

The program, conducted in partnership with Noble Hall Limited, aimed to enhance modern teaching methodologies, classroom management, and quality assurance, aligning Zamfara’s education system with global standards. Gajam linked the GSTTP to Governor Dauda Lawal’s declaration of a state of emergency on education, emphasizing education as a cornerstone of the administration’s Rescue Mission Agenda.

He stated that the ministry would intensify monitoring of teachers to ensure effective service delivery. Governor Lawal, represented by Alhaji Sani Haidara, reaffirmed the administration's commitment to investing in education and urged participants to apply their new skills to improve student outcomes.
