Nigerian Alad Ajibad Makes History with Bronze Medal at World Sambo Championship

Alad Ajibad from Nigeria created history by winning a bronze medal at the 2025 World Sambo Championship in Bishkek, Uzbekistan, marking a significant milestone in the adaptation of the sport. Ajibad's achievement as the first Nigerian and African to win a medal in the blind sambo competition was celebrated by Sheriff Ham, the Vice President of the Sambo Association of Nigeria.

Nigeria's full membership status in the International Sambo Federation (FIA) was also highlighted, signaling growth and recognition for the country in the global sambo community.
