Morocco Commits to South-South Cooperation at OACPS Summit

At the 11th OACPS Summit held in Equatorial Guinea, Morocco reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to South-South cooperation, emphasizing partnerships grounded in solidarity. Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita, representing King Mohammed VI, highlighted Morocco's strategic decision to anchor itself in Africa and prioritize partnerships that extend beyond bilateral frameworks.

Bourita noted that since 1999, Morocco has signed 1,607 cooperation agreements during 52 royal visits to Africa, providing thousands of scholarships to students from sister nations. He pointed out that Morocco has donated nearly 200,000 tons of fertilizer to Caribbean countries and delivered 364,000 tons at preferential rates to African nations in 2022 alone.

Bourita outlined Morocco's approach to South-South cooperation, focusing on tailored partnerships that prioritize human impact and sustainability. He urged the OACPS to become a collective voice advocating for a new economic order that respects mutual development and cooperation, reaffirming Morocco's readiness to work alongside its partners in building a multipolar world.
