Super Falcons' Babajide Sees WAFCON as Motivation

Rinsola Babajide, a forward for the Super Falcons and current player for AS Roma, stated that the expanded format of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, which will feature 16 teams instead of 12, serves as additional motivation for the Nigerian team. The tournament is scheduled to take place from July 26 to August 16, 2024.

Babajide emphasized the importance of retaining the title as the defending champions and the desire to qualify for the next World Cup. She acknowledged the pressure that comes with being champions but expressed excitement about the opportunity to reclaim the WAFCON title.

Babajide also reflected on her development as a player, crediting her experiences in England for enhancing her skills and resilience, which she believes will contribute positively to the team's performance in Morocco.
