Baby Beheaded in Ondo: Father Seeks Justice

On June 8, 2026, an 18-month-old baby girl was tragically beheaded in Ondo. The victim was identified as the daughter of Mr.

Bright Kalu, a peasant farmer from Abia State. The incident occurred at Agoti Settlement while Mr.

Kalu was working on his farm, located a distance from the settlement. At the time of the attack, the toddler was left in the care of her mother, who had gone to buy food items.

Upon returning, she found her husband, Mr. Ifeanyi Kalu, distressed after learning that someone had attacked the camp.

He immediately searched the area but could not find anyone. Later, they discovered the lifeless body of their daughter behind a house, with her head severed.

Mr. Kalu has appealed to the Ondo State government and security agencies to ensure that those responsible for the murder are identified and prosecuted.

The case was first reported at Olofin Police Station in Idanr and was transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department at police headquarters in Akure for further investigation. DSP Abayomi Jimoh confirmed that suspects have been arrested in connection with the crime and that investigations are ongoing.
