EU-funded Digital Skills Program Benefits 18,000 in Borno and Yobe

The European Union-funded digital skills program has benefitted over 18,000 individuals in Borno and Yobe states in Nigeria. The initiative aims to reduce the digital gender gap, address digital exclusion among vulnerable groups, and strengthen community-level capacities in fragile conflict-affected contexts.

The program, implemented by ZOA International from 2023 to 2026, focuses on expanding access to digital skills, narrowing the digital divide, and empowering grassroots civil society organizations across 30 communities in the two states. The EU has committed significant funds to support Nigeria's digital transformation, including enhancing connectivity and digital skills development.

The program's emphasis on inclusivity and community development was highlighted at the closing ceremony in Maiduguri, attended by key stakeholders, including EU representatives and state government officials.
