Imumolen Backs APC's Oyebamiji for Osun Governorship
Christopher Imumolen, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Accord party, publicly endorsed Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Osun State, ahead of the election scheduled for Saturday, August 15. Imumolen made this announcement on Thursday during the APC's campaign rally in Osogbo, stating that his faction of Accord had withdrawn support for the incumbent governor, Ademola Adeleke.
He directed Accord members in Osun to vote for Oyebamiji, also known as AMBO. However, this endorsement does not reflect the position of the recognized Accord leadership, led by Maxwell Mgbudem, which continues to support Adeleke for a second term.
Mgbudem and other leaders have rejected Imumolen's claims to leadership, labeling him an expelled former member. This division has led to conflicting directives regarding voting preferences among Accord members in the upcoming election.
