Rivers LG Chairmen Back Tinubu for 2027 Re-election

On Monday, 23 local government chairmen from Rivers State expressed their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's re-election in the 2027 general elections. They reaffirmed their loyalty to Governor Nyesom Wike during a visit to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), coinciding with the inauguration of infrastructure projects executed by the FCT Administration under Wike's leadership.

Sir Allwell Ihunda, the executive chairman of the Port Harcourt City Local Government Area and spokesperson for the chairmen, praised Wike as a visionary leader and highlighted the transformative projects in Abuja. He predicted an easy victory for Tinubu, emphasizing the political coalition in Rivers State that aligns with the president.

Ihunda dismissed concerns about the current political leadership in Rivers State, asserting that it is already aligned with the coalition supporting Tinubu. He commended Wike's achievements in infrastructure development, education, and healthcare, asserting that these efforts have improved the lives of residents in the FCT.
