ADC Launches Reconciliation Committee for 2027 Elections

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) inaugurated a National Reconciliation and Peace Committee on Wednesday in Abuja, with Senator David Mark serving as the National Chairman of the Party. The initiative aims to heal divisions, rebuild trust, and unify members in preparation for the 2027 general elections.

Mark emphasized the necessity of addressing grievances stemming from the recently concluded primaries, acknowledging that while some candidates emerged victorious, others faced disappointments. He urged victorious candidates to avoid exclusion and reminded those who lost of their value within the party.

The Committee, established in accordance with Article 9.1 of the ADC Constitution, will engage aspirants, candidates, and stakeholders in dialogue, discourage inflammatory statements, and recommend measures for integrating unsuccessful aspirants into party structures. Mark directed the establishment of Zonal Sub-Committees for ongoing engagement and monitoring, appealing for support from party leaders and members to foster reconciliation and unity within the ADC.
