APC Uploads Candidates to INEC Portal for 2027 Elections

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has begun the process of uploading its governorship and state assembly candidates to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal in preparation for the 2027 general elections. This initiative, which started on a Saturday, aims to meet the August 8 submission deadline.

The APC is focusing on 28 governorship candidates and 993 state assembly candidates across the country. Among those seeking re-election are 16 serving governors, including Umo Eno from Akwa Ibom and Hyacinth Alia from Benue.

The party also plans to upload names of 12 first-time governorship candidates, including Obafemi Hamzat from Lagos and Solomon Adeola from Ogun. The APC has established a special committee led by Jibrin Bancir to ensure proper verification of nominations.

The INEC portal will close automatically at 6:00 PM on August 8, and the party is under strict regulations to avoid late submissions, as stipulated by the new electoral law.
