Major Parties Complete Candidate Upload for 2027 Elections

The All Progressives Congress (APC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Social Democratic Party (SDP), and New Democratic Congress (NDC) have successfully completed the electronic upload of their candidates for the 2027 general elections on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal. This development was confirmed on Monday, ahead of the deadline for candidate submissions.

The APC, led by National Chairman Prof Nentawe Yilwatda, stated it completed the process ahead of the original deadline of August 8, 2026, which was extended to August 11, 2026, following requests from political parties. Yilwatda emphasized the APC's organizational strength and preparedness, noting that the upload involved thousands of candidates across all levels of government.

The PDP's Wike-led faction, represented by spokesman Jungudo Haruna, confirmed their upload was glitch-free. NDC spokesman Osa Director and SDP spokesman Rufus Aiyenigba also confirmed their parties completed the process.
