Katsina Residents Demand Jobs and Security in Budget Talks

In Katsina State, residents are actively participating in town hall meetings across 361 political wards to voice their demands for more job opportunities and enhanced security funding as part of the preparation for the 2027 budget. These meetings are organized by the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, with the theme "Build the Future," aimed at allowing citizens to contribute ideas and identify priority projects for the upcoming budget.

Hon. Malik Ana, the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, emphasized the importance of inclusivity in governance, ensuring that citizens have a direct voice in the allocation of public resources.

Community leaders, women, youth, traditional rulers, civil society organizations, and stakeholders are encouraged to attend these meetings to help shape the state's development agenda. The initiative reflects a commitment to address the real needs of communities across Katsina State.
